Week 10: Monday and Tuesday: double nope
Nope. Nope.
I’m on a break from the plan. Haven’t quite convinced myself that I’ve bailed on it completely, but I’m definitely on a break. Don’t see the point in doing stuff I don’t enjoy, and I don’t enjoy failing.
Monday
Runna started the week with some absolute nonsense.
I mean, I literally gave my best during the last few workouts which weren’t easy runs, and I totally regretted it. It made me feel miserable as fuck that I was nowhere near as fast as I was meant to be by this point in the plan. My best literally isn’t good enough. So, yeah, no. This notification had the absolute opposite effect that it was meant to have, and made it very easy for me to click that “skip workout” button yesterday.
7km easy 2km however I felt
Did go out for a run though. Woke up in Halifax and had to travel all the way back to Godalming which is not a short journey. Got home before sunset, just, but it was pretty dark by the time I set out. I just ran 2km, pretty much only because I want to keep up my streak of running “every other day” (not quite the metric; it’s actually not having 2 rest days in a row). Because, of course, there’s a badge for it.
It was alright. Bit cold. I wore the new beanie with a light on it, I think it’s better for making me visible to traffic and people than it is for helping me see what’s in front of me.
Tuesday
Was meant to do:
- 2km warmup
- 2km @ 5:20/km
- 2km @ 5:05/km
- 2km @ 4:55/km
Actually:
- clicked “skip workout”
Yesterday’s 2km averaged just under 5:20/km, albeit I was speeding up towards the end to around 4:55/km – but there’s just no way I would’ve been able to do this run and like I say, repeatedly above: right now I prefer to not even try than to try and fail. Failing is fucking miserable.
